Red light therapy: a beginner's guide

Red light therapy (photobiomodulation) is one of the fastest-growing wellness methods – and one of the few backed by a serious body of research. Here's what to know before your first visit.

How it works

Red (630–660 nm) and near-infrared light (810–850 nm) penetrates the skin and is absorbed by mitochondria – the "power plants" of our cells. The result is more energy production (ATP), less inflammation and faster tissue repair.

Who it helps

  • athletes and recreational exercisers – faster muscle recovery and less joint inflammation
  • people with tired, dull skin – stimulates collagen and evens out tone
  • poor sleepers – regulates circadian rhythm when used in the morning
  • anyone with chronic tension – relaxes and reduces pain

What to expect

A session lasts 15–20 minutes. You lie or stand in front of the panel; the light feels pleasantly warm but doesn't heat like a tanning bed and has no UV. No downtime – you can carry on with your day immediately.

How often

For the first 4–6 weeks we recommend 2–3 sessions a week, then 1–2 a week for maintenance. That's why we offer a 10-session package at a better price.

Results aren't magic – they're the sum of consistency. The body rewards regularity.
